PCB Assembly
Turnkey PCB assembly from prototype to mid-volume production. SMT and through-hole placement, reflow soldering, and functional testing with full BOM sourcing.
About PCB Assembly
FabRapid provides turnkey PCB assembly from prototype through mid-volume production, handling everything from bare board fabrication to full BOM sourcing, surface mount placement, through-hole insertion, reflow soldering, and functional testing.
Our SMT lines place components as small as 01005 (0.4 × 0.2 mm) with placement accuracy of ±0.025 mm. We handle single-sided, double-sided, and mixed-technology (SMT + through-hole) assemblies with lead-free and leaded solder processes.
Whether you need 5 prototypes or 5,000 production boards, our team manages component procurement, kit verification, assembly, inspection (AOI, X-ray, ICT), and functional testing to deliver assembled boards ready for integration into your product.
Key Capabilities
Full BOM Sourcing
We source all components from authorized distributors (Digi-Key, Mouser, Arrow) with full traceability and counterfeit prevention.
SMT Down to 01005
High-speed pick-and-place with ±0.025 mm accuracy handles components from 01005 passives to fine-pitch BGAs and QFNs.
AOI & X-Ray Inspection
Automated optical inspection catches solder defects and placement errors. X-ray inspection verifies hidden BGA and QFN joints.
Prototype to Mid-Volume
From 5-piece prototype runs to 5,000+ production orders. Quick-turn prototype assembly in as fast as 5 business days.
Technical Specifications
How PCB Assembly Works
Design Review & BOM Sourcing
Gerber files and BOM are reviewed for manufacturability. Components are sourced from authorized distributors with full traceability.
Board Fabrication
PCBs are fabricated in-house or through qualified partners with controlled impedance, blind/buried vias, and up to 32-layer stackups.
SMT & Through-Hole Assembly
Automated pick-and-place systems populate components with ±0.025 mm accuracy. Reflow soldering for SMT, wave or selective soldering for through-hole.
Inspection & Testing
AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), X-ray for BGA and hidden joints, ICT (In-Circuit Test), and functional testing per your specifications.
PCB Assembly FAQ
Gerber files (or ODB++), BOM (Bill of Materials) with manufacturer part numbers and reference designators, and pick-and-place (centroid) file. We also accept KiCad, Altium, and Eagle native files.
Yes. We provide full turnkey BOM sourcing from authorized distributors. We can also work with customer-supplied components (consigned) or a mix of both (partial turnkey).
Quick-turn prototypes: 5-7 business days (components in stock). Standard production: 2-3 weeks. Lead times depend primarily on component availability. We recommend early BOM review to identify long-lead components.
